The Stifel Nicolaus Edwardsville Rotary Criterium is a fast-paced, pro-am bicycle race held in Downtown Edwardsville, Illinois on Saturday, August 18, 2012. The course features seven turns, a picturesque historic downtown setting and lively spectators. The one-day payout for the event is $10,000. USA Cycling permit is 2012-2790.
Moving from a Sunday afternoon to a Saturday night and bringing the Criterium Concert from City Park to the race itself will create a high-energy atmosphere for families and spectators of
all ages. In addition to the eight high-speed pro bike races and the four Free Kids Races, this year Rotary is also partnering with the Edwardsville Junior Service Club to host a Pub Crawl featuring Downtown Edwardsville’s unique dining destinations.

Route
The Starting Line for the Criterium is mid-block on Main Street almost directly across from the Flanigan Law Office. Riders will travel south on Main, make a sharp turn onto Vandalia for a 300 yard straightaway on Vandalia, then enter “Ninian’s Narrows” where the course narrows for 80 feet in front of the statue for Edwardsville’s namesake, Ninian Edwards. Cyclists will then make a series of quick turns, first a left on Benton, a right on Ramey, a right on Coventry and then a right on St. Louis Street. From St. Louis the route veers at a 45 degree angle onto a 268-yard straightaway. With the Madison County courthouse on the left, cyclists will make the final turn back onto Main Street for a 90-yard sprint to the Finish Line.

Registration for the Stifel Nicolaus Edwardsville Rotary Criterium is open at https://www.bikereg.com/Net/16956. Registration will also be available on Saturday, August 18, 2012, the day of the race.
Where to Park?
Parking is available on Second Street in Downtown Edwardsville.
From I-270, take Exit 9, IL-157 North to Edwardsville. Follow IL-157 until it ends at a T-intersection. Turn right at St. Louis Street, then make a quick left on Myrtle, right on Randle, left on Clay, and right onto Second Street, where there is ample parking available.
From I-255, take Exit 3, New Poag Road to Edwardsville. Turn right onto New Poag Road. It becomes St. Louis Street. Turn left on Myrtle, right on Randle, left on Clay, and right onto Second Street, for parking.
